According to the California Highway Patrol, A woman died in a multi-car collision on the 215 Freeway in Riverside Sunday morning.
At about 6:30 a.m. on the 215 freeway north of Columbia Avenue, a pickup truck’s tire flattened out and slowed to a halt on the road with two cars.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was driving the fourth car, a Honda Civic that “failed to slow down or stop for vehicles ahead” and collided with a line of three cars ahead of her, then “violently behind.” Towards” ended. The fifth car, CHP said in a release.
The CHP said the Civic’s driver was found “irresponsible” in his car and “was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where he died.”
Two more drivers suffered “minor injuries” and one of them was taken to the same hospital for treatment.
Another driver, who was behind the wheel of the third car in line, a Toyota Corolla that was initially hit from behind by a Civic, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to the CHP.
