ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – The high schoolers got out into the community and cleaned things up on Thursday.
The City of Athens said students in grades 10 to 12 from the Mayor’s Youth Commission walked through the city center square throughout the day. They picked up about 25 bags of fast food cups, empty boxes, old medicine, cigarette butts and other trash.
Supplies for students at Athens High, Athens Bible School and Lindsay Lane Christian Academy were provided by Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful, with the city providing reflective safety vests labeled “Volunteer”.
