WASHINGTON — President Biden said Thursday the United States would send more military and economic aid to Ukraine, ban Russian-affiliated ships from U.S. ports and launch a refugee program for Ukrainians.
The latest military package of about $800 million will include heavy artillery weapons, such as 72 155mm howitzers, 144,000 artillery rounds and dozens of tactical drones, the Pentagon said. This comes days after Russian forces launched a new offensive in eastern Ukraine.
