INDIO, Calif. — The question of the hour on Saturday was whether Billie Eilish could deliver a set as powerful as she did on Weekend 1 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The answer is yes.
Despite being modest and telling the crowd last weekend that she shouldn’t be headlining, Eilish is more than capable in every aspect.
After stepping out in a long black coat which she dramatically took off before the opening words of ‘Bury a Friend’, fans – especially those who had been waiting outside for hours to get a front seat – started screaming. for the young singer-songwriter, bouncing around the stage, eating it.
Before entering “My Strange Addiction,” she stopped to interact with festival-goers.
Coachella, weekend 1:Billie Eilish insists she shouldn’t be in the headlines, then delivers a powerful, polished set
“It feels so good to be here right now,” she announced to the excited crowd. “Can we just really quickly soak in the moment we’re in right now?”
At 20 – arguably the same age as most people in the crowd – Eilish is the youngest headliner in Coachella history. But it lives up to its status, and its dark, uplifting music resonates with music lovers.
His 90-minute set featured most of the same songs from Weekend 1, including “NDA”, “Therefore I Am”, “idontwannabeyouanymore”, and “You Should See Me in a Crown”.

Later, she asked the audience to come down for “Oxytocin” and then jump on her orders for the entire song.
“It’s time of night,” Eilish said. “You’ve been here so long.”
The entire festival complied with his request and bounced off the last 20 seconds of the song.
The real highlight of the night, however, was when Eilish brought in Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams to sing an acoustic version of Paramore’s hit “Misery Business” with Eilish’s brother, Finneas. Williams smiled and said it was her first time performing at Coachella.

Unlike last week, there were no appearances from Khalid or Damon Albarn.
“What could be cooler than that?” Eilish said after singing with Williams.
Just like she did on Weekend 1, Eilish rode a crane and hovered above the audience during “Not My Responsibility.”
Her visuals throughout the show remained quite dark and intense, but as she performed “Getting Older,” sweet videos from her early childhood flashed across the screen. Eilish was apparently so swept away by the nostalgic moment that she forgot the lyrics at one point.
She also tripped, swore and assured the crowd, “I’m fine.” Eilish continued to laugh at her fall, saying she had landed on a square, and joked “What is square?”

Ahead of “When the Party Is Over,” she talked about her performance at the Outdoor Theater in 2019.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes and now again I’m headlining and I can’t believe my eyes,” Eilish said.
As she sang “Everything I Wanted” towards the end of the set, Eilish draped a Ukrainian flag over her shoulder to show her support for the war-torn country.
Her penultimate song was her hit “Bad Guy,” which exposed her to a wider audience and made headlining Coachella possible.
“Thanks for being you, have a great night,” Eilish said before concluding with “Happier Than Ever.”
A replay of the December 2021 star’s “Saturday Night Live” episode coincided with her Weekend 2 performance, further proving that this is Eilish’s world, and we all live in it.
