CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Cambridge police officer has been placed on administrative leave amid an investigation into a drunken-driving crash involving three motorcyclists early Monday morning, authorities said.
Michael Daniliuk, 57, of Cambridge, is slated to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on charges including operating under the influence of alcohol and failure to stop at a red light, according to the Cambridge Police Department.
Officers responding to a report of a crash around 12 a.m. determined that the three motorcyclists were struck while they were stopped at a traffic light on Broadway.
Daniliuk and two of the motorcyclists were taken to an area hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.
Daniliuk was off-duty at the time of the crash.
In a statement, police said, “Per department policy, he has been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of the crash investigation.”
Daniliuk has worked as a youth resource officer for the last 24 years.
