CHICAGO (SCS) — Clouds rise overnight with temperatures dropping into the upper 40s. The chance of rain increases early Friday morning and remains high throughout the day.

In addition to numerous showers, isolated showers and thunderstorms will be likely. Rainfall amounts could total up to an inch. Friday’s highs will range from the high 40s along the North Shore, to the upper mid-50s in the city, to near 70 degrees for areas south of I-80.

The chance of rain will decrease Friday evening. For Saturday, morning clouds will give way to plenty of afternoon sun and highs in the 80s. Saturday’s highs will be 20 degrees above average for this time of year, and the hottest temperatures since early October.

Shower chances return on Sunday with highs in the 70s. Overall much cooler weather for the next work week with highs in the 50s.
