DC shooting: At least 2 shot down under “active threat” in Washington, DC

Police are still looking for an armed suspect, a Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Department source familiar with the situation told CNN.

Two men and a girl were injured, the MPD said. Authorities have publicly confirmed that two people were shot, and it was not immediately clear if the third victim was also shot.

Police are carrying out active sweeps in the area, the MPD said. The shooting took place in the 4100 block of Connecticut Avenue.

There is a large law enforcement presence at the scene, including the MPD, the City Fire and Emergency Department, the United States Secret Service Uniformed Division, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Anthony Guglielmi, spokesman for the secret services, said there is “no impact” on a beneficiary.
The situation is described as “active threat” and residents are told to shelter in place or avoid the area.
