Fivel Stewart of Roar defends the Horse Girls from their enemies

Before judging a rider, walk a mile in her cowgirl boots. Better yet, try riding a horse.

It is not an easy task, a fact that Fifth Stewart can testify as someone who has worked with the animal for most of its life. So she doesn’t understand why the term “girl on horseback” has taken on a negative connotation over the years.

“Getting on top of a huge animal that weighs hundreds of pounds, riding it, guiding it, jumping it, and running full throttle up mountains and steep inclines takes a lot of balls,” she told E! News. News. “I don’t know why the horsewoman thing is so frowned upon!”

It’s a subject the actress is even more passionate about after starring in the Apple TV+ anthology series. Roar, in which she plays a girl who sets out to avenge her father’s death in the wilds in the west. For her episode, “The Girl Who Loved Horses,” she worked alongside a stunt double, but some of the most intense scenes feature Fivel riding bareback.
