Former Rangers goalkeeper Andy Goram undergoes cancer treatment | Soccer News


Former Rangers goalkeeper Andy Goram is undergoing cancer treatment in hospital, the Scottish Premiership club have announced.

The 58-year-old has made 184 appearances for Gers in seven years and the club have sent their best wishes to the Goram family.

In a statement on Twitter, Rangers added: “Club officials are in regular contact with Andy and his family. The family have requested confidentiality at this time. Everyone at Rangers wishes the ‘goalkeeper’ well. in this difficult time.”

Goram won 10 trophies at Rangers, including five Scottish Premier League titles. Internationally, he earned 43 caps for Scotland and was capped for four major tournaments.

His achievements at club and country level saw Goram inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Goram played for a number of other Scottish clubs, including Hibernian, Motherwell and Hamilton, and was also loaned out to Manchester United in 2001, making two appearances. His time at the Premier League club saw him pick up a title winner’s medal for the 2000/2001 season.

Since retiring, Goram has coached at various clubs in Scotland.
