Fox News hosts and right-handers take nasty victory lap after CNN+ death

Conservatives couldn’t contain their joy at the untimely demise of the CNN+ streaming service.

Fox News personalities, Donald Trump and the former president’s allies took great delight in celebrating Warner Bros.’ decision. Discovery to take down the platform just weeks after launch, a move that put hundreds of jobs at risk.

Much of the anger was drawn to Chris Wallace, who left Fox News for CNN+ in December.

In a statement, Trump mocked the service as “an empty wasteland” despite “hundreds of millions of dollars spent and the hiring of low-rated Chris Wallace, a man who tried so hard to be his father, Mike, but who lacked the talent and everything needed to be a star.

Donald Trump Jr., the former president’s oldest son, shared this meme:

Fox’s prime-time conspiracy theory host Tucker Carlson mockingly mourned “the involuntary retirement of Mike Wallace’s son”.

“Boo hoo, no more lectures on TV,” he said.

Fox’s Greg Gutfeld, meanwhile, said “the Democratic bench is thinner than CNN+’s Chris Wallace demo reel.”

Former Trump White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who is now a host on Fox, said the service had “fallen into the dustbin of history.”

“Even Tom Brady’s retirement lasted longer than CNN+,” Fox’s Brian Kilmeade added.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) called the decision “poetry.”

And former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, now a host on Newsmax, said it “didn’t even last a full Scaramucci”.
