On Friday’s “New Day” show on CNN, Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) said he pressed the head of the Food and Drug Administration “months ago” on the issue of infant formula and said that at this time the White House is “taking the appropriate steps” to address the issue and “taking it seriously and I think they are moving in the right direction.”
Co-host John Berman asked, “What do you hear from Montanans about formula milk?”
The tester replied, “Big worry. And we must do everything we can to right this ship. It is – literally, a life or death situation in many cases.
Berman then asked, “And is the White House doing this?”
The tester replied, “I think they are currently taking the appropriate steps to achieve this, yes. I pushed the FDA commissioner months ago on this issue, and I think they are taking it seriously. and I think they are moving in the right direction.
