It looks like Joel Embiid will play in Saturday’s Game 4 in Toronto, but was wearing a soft cast on his right wrist after Wednesday’s win over the Raptors, but says he’s fine.
However, according to ESPN NBA insiders Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski, Embiid is experiencing pain and discomfort in his right thumb.
He trained on Friday and is expected to play in the game.
Embiid has been a dominant force in this series, averaging 27.7 points, 13 rebounds in a playoff career-high 39.6 minutes per game.
If for some reason Embiid is unable to play, it would be interesting to see if head coach Doc Rivers would look to Paul Reed in the starting lineup, or DeAndre Jordan. Reed has played the save minutes in this series so far.
Charles Bassey is with the squad, but is also unavailable with a sprained right shoulder.
Embiid and the Sixers can sweep the series with a victory Saturday in Toronto, which you can listen to on 97.3 ESPN.
