Josef Fritzl, who raped his daughter and held her captive for 24 years, could face regular prison

Josef Fritzl, an Austrian who held his daughter captive in his basement as a sex slave for 24 years, father of seven of his children, could be transferred from a psychiatric detention center to a regular prison, according to world reports.

Fritzl, 87, will remain in the psychiatric prison while prosecutors assess the situation, the Associated Press reported.

Fritzl was sentenced to life in prison a year later for incest, rape, coercion, forcible confinement, slavery and negligent homicide after killing one of the sons he fathered shortly after the baby was born, according to AP and Reuters.
