Looks like Liza Minnelli took her own advice and gave up her knitting.
The ‘Cabaret’ star was pictured smiling broadly while dining with Michael Feinstein and fellow legend Joan Collins on Wednesday after her ominous appearance at the 2022 Oscars.
“We had a great time last night with these two ladies,” the 65-year-old pianist wrote on Instagram on Thursday alongside a photo of the trio sitting together in a restaurant.
The snap comes after longtime Minnelli friend Feinstein claimed the 76-year-old EGOT winner was ‘sabotaged’ at the March 27 awards show by being ‘forced’ to using a wheelchair, which raised concerns about his health.
Earlier this week, Feinstein said on SiriusXM’s “Jess Cagle Show” that the “New York, New York” star only agreed to appear at the Oscars if she could sit in a chair. director “because she has back problems”.
He added that she wanted to “look good” but didn’t want anyone “to worry about her”. However, moments before she took the stage, a stage manager reportedly told her she had to use a wheelchair.
“I guess they were all shaken up because of everything that happened earlier,” Feinstein said, referencing the time Will Smith slapped Chris Rock.
Feinstein claimed that Minnelli eventually agreed to go out in a wheelchair, but was “so shaken up she was baffled.”
“She was nervous,” he said. “I mean, and it made her feel like she was out of place. And she was so shaken up.
“Can you imagine suddenly having to be seen by millions of people like you wouldn’t want to be seen? That’s what happened to him.
Feinstein added that Minnelli was “very disappointed” with what happened but “is doing very well.”
Minnelli’s former publicist Scott Gorenstein previously told the Post that she “had health issues” before presenting the Best Picture Oscar with Lady Gaga.
