HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for a suspect accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and shooting her current boyfriend to death near the NRG Stadium on Wednesday.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2600 block of Holly Hall around 8:25 a.m.

The woman told officers that her ex-boyfriend came into her home early in the morning while she was asleep and shot her current boyfriend and then kidnapped her.

Officers said the woman was able to escape out of her ex-boyfriend’s custody and run to a police station about 15 minutes away from her home.

Officers said a vehicle was recovered, but they’re still working to confirm the ex-boyfriend’s identity.

The woman’s current boyfriend was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officers.
