CHICAGO (SCS) — Chicago police are looking for the shooter who killed a person after an argument in Bronzeville.
The man was shot right in front of the Snipes store.
The road was closed until a few minutes before 5 p.m.
A witness, who works security across the street, told CBS 2’s Sabrina Franza that there was an argument inside the Snipes that ended in the street along South Cottage Grove Ave. She said the victim was trying to get into a car with a woman and a toddler when he was shot and fell in the street.
The witness took a video with his mobile phone immediately afterwards. This video shows the woman pleading and begging for help as she waited for an ambulance and just after the suspect fled the scene.
“Basically, I feel like I need to be more observant and alert around this area,” Veryunique Pritchett said. “Stuff like that happens. So I just feel like I need to watch more.”
The victim was shot twice in the chest and pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
CBS 2 learns that there are cameras inside the store.
The police are investigating.
