The Dolphins made the big call for halfback to lead them into the park in their inaugural season – Panther Sean O’Sullivan.
O’Sullivan’s form in Penrith’s first three games in the absence of star halfback Nathan Cleary was enough to convince the Dolphins he can get the job done next season.
The club are believed to have signed O’Sullivan on a two-year deal – and are hoping to lure Melbourne superstar Cameron Munster to partner him at half-time. But the decision was tricky for the club given that Sean’s father, Peter, is the new club’s head of recruiting.

But O’Sullivan senior stayed out of all talks with the 23-year-old, coach Wayne Bennett and general manager Terry Reader handling negotiations.
The contract is a show of confidence in O’Sullivan, who has been a journeyman for much of his five-year NRL career. O’Sullivan played for four clubs during this time – the Roosters, Broncos, Warriors and Panthers – and only appeared in 24 games.
But the nugget halfback played the best football of his career during his brief stint with the Panthers and that was enough to secure him a deal with the new club.
