Paul Pogba has ‘fallen in love with Manchester United’ and will shine again when he joins a new club this season, claims Tony Cascarino

Paul Pogba will become the world’s best player Manchester United thought they had bought… but only when he leaves the club this summer.

That’s according to Tony Cascarino, who claims the midfielder has ‘fallen in love’ with Old Trafford and will start to shine again once he’s gone.

Pogba is set to leave Old Trafford and has been tipped to join and play at another elite European club

Pogba is expected to leave United at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Erik ten Hag’s appointment has led to claims he could have a future at the club under the new head coach, but comments from current interim boss Ralf Rangnick appear to have put those hopes to bed .

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s midday Premier League clash against Arsenal, Rangnick admitted: “It’s very likely that he will [Pogba] won’t be there next season.

With the World Cup winner currently sidelined with injury, and also unlikely to return before the end of the campaign, it is suggested that the Frenchman has already played his last game for the club.

However, the midfielder has spoken out on social media, saying ‘it’s not over’ and insisting he will do everything he can to return before the end of the Premier season. League in May.

“Absolutely disgusted to not be able to help the team in today’s game,” he wrote on Twitter of the Arsenal clash.

“I will work even harder to come back stronger and hopefully before the end of the season. It’s not over.

“Thank you all for your support, United we would stand!”

It’s fair to say that Pogba’s return hasn’t gone the way he or the club would have liked.

He won two trophies, the Europa League and the EFL Cup, but two ultimately second-rate pieces of silverware in six seasons is not a great return for a player who cost a then British record £89m.

But while many will think Pogba’s best days are behind him, Cascarino insists the 29-year-old still has a bright future at the very top level of the European game – as he expects Pogba to rediscover his love for football and its best form. when he joins a new club this summer.

And on his disappointing United career, the talkSPORT pundit also insists Pogba isn’t entirely to blame, as it didn’t help that he played in ‘one of Manchester’s worst teams United of all time”.

“Paul Pogba will eventually join one of the biggest clubs in the world,” the Weekend Sports Breakfast host said.

“Man United are obviously already one of those clubs, but there will be many who want him.

“Do you know what really frustrates me about Pogba, I don’t know an expert or anyone talking about Paul Pogba who would technically criticize him.

” He has everything. He’s 6ft 3in, he can move around the pitch very well, technically he can handle the ball, he can see passes, he’s an aerial threat.

Pogba’s talent is often on full display when he puts on a France shirt, but he’s been a more understated figure for Man United

“I really believe that in the Champions League next year we’ll be talking about him leading a team forward, and that was the disappointing theme for Man United.

“I think there was a period when he fell in love with the club.

“Jose Mourinho talked a lot about Pogba when he arrived, what he was getting as a player, but that relationship broke down along the way.

“After that, I think he gradually fell in love with where he was.

“He took the brunt of the criticism, but you can also say he was one of the worst teams at Man United and it did him a disservice.

“He was in very good teams at Juventus and he shone.”
