Police said three burglars were caught on camera Monday stealing wigs worth thousands of dollars from an Altamonte Springs store.
According to an incident report, police responded to Sassy Sista’s boutique that the front door was broken into and about 34 wigs were stolen.
Boutique owner Jasmine Jackson told officials that the wigs were worth about $13,000.
She Said, “For us, “$13,000 is a lot, that’s a pretty big deal. It hurt us financially, mentally, you know our store is our livelihood. This is how we take care of our families.”
The report said cameras inside the store captured “(three) people, possibly men, wearing pants, sweatshirts, gloves and masks” around 3 a.m.
A cash register was also stolen and found at the Altamonte Springs apartment complex in Ashford, but no cash was taken.
Co-owner Von Jackson said, “The time and the work we put into each wig. We spend long days and nights in here getting these wigs ready for these ladies. So, to have someone come in here and do something like that it’s very heartbreaking and devastating.”
