NEW YORK – Queens mother Orsolya Gaal and her killer were arguing inside her family’s home in the early hours of the day she was fatally stabbed, when the suspect – identified as the handyman make the family of 44-year-old David Bonola – tried to convince her to rekindle their “intimate” relationship, an NYPD official confirmed Thursday.

Bonola, who had worked for Gaal and his family for the past two years, confessed to parts of the horrible crime and made other incriminating statements during interviews with NYPD investigators on Wednesday evening. He was charged early Thursday morning with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

We believe that the relationship Mr. Bonola had with our victim was an intimate type relationship and it was a domestic type dispute that they had about their intimate relationship,” Lt. Tommy said. Thompson of the NYPD from the Queens North Homicide Squad. .

Gaal, a 51-year-old married mother and mother of two, was found murdered and stuffed in one of her son’s hockey bags on Saturday morning, less than a mile from her home in Forest Hill.

Police said they received a call around 8:10 a.m. Saturday reporting “a suspicious bag with blood on it at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Jackie Robinson Parkway.”

Investigators also found a trace of blood that led them back to the family home. One of Gaal’s sons was at home at the time of the murder and was questioned by authorities, but was later released.

Meanwhile, her 53-year-old husband, Howard Klein, was with their other son on the West Coast.

Surveillance footage from around 4:30 a.m. that day appeared to show a figure dragging a similar-looking bag along the sidewalk, sources confirmed.

Gaal attended a show at Lincoln Center on Friday night, then took the train to the Forest Hills neighborhood, where it stopped at a local watering hole around 11:20 p.m., police said.

She returned to her Juno Street home in Forest Hills around 12:20 p.m. Saturday. Police say they either let Bonola into the house or used a spare key that was hidden in the grill about 10 to 20 minutes later, police said. One of the woman’s sons was on the upper floor at the time.

Gaal and Bonola then went down to the basement, where they began arguing, police officials said. Bonola reportedly came home that night “to talk about the relationship again.”

“A heated argument ensues between the two in the basement. A knife is brandished. A violent struggle ensues, resulting in our victim being stabbed ruthlessly and brutally over 55 times, resulting in his death,” the Chief of Staff said. NYPD detectives, James Essig.

Police said the murder weapon was later left at the crime scene.

“Mr Bonola then retrieved the hockey bag belonging to Ms Gaal’s son, placed it in the bag and, as shown in the video, was seen rolling the body on the sidewalks, leaving a bloody trail through the streets of Forest Hills,” Essig continued. Police believe he then fled to Forest Park, “where investigators discovered the jacket he allegedly wore during the heinous crime”.

He said detectives had also developed leads that led them to a location “where boots, a t-shirt and bloody bandages were discovered”. They learned he had been treated for hand injuries at an area hospital, Essig said.

Investigators said the couple had been on and off, and had broken up before but reunited in April. At the time of the murder, their relationship had been considered “over”, police said. The on-and-off relationship lasted two years, cops said.

Essig said Bonola made “incriminating statements”. Investigators further described how his “confession” included an admission that he had sent a chilling text message from the victim’s mobile phone.

The post, as reported by WPIX, stated, “Your wife sent me to jail a few years ago when you lived near Austin Street in Forest Hills. I’m back, don’t call the police or I kill your family.”

The NYPD said Thursday it believes the message’s content is completely false.

“We know from the confession that he sent this message,” an NYPD executive said. “We don’t believe there was any danger to the family.”

Investigators further described how they believe Bonola moved the victim’s body because he did not want the family to find it. And said the knife used in the crime was “compatible with the knives that are in the house”.

Local news station WNBC-TV reported that Gaal was last seen Friday night at a bar and restaurant in Queens called Forest Hills Station House, where she was alone and stayed from around 11:45 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

“She was here on Friday, right in the center of the bar. Had a Moscow Mule, had a bite to eat. I spoke to a few of my staff who knew her, joking in conversation,” the manager said of the restaurant Gabriel Veras at WNBC. . “She was a very, very nice regular. She left on her own and we were in shock the next day. Shocked.”
