Tornado warning in New Hampshire expires, severe thunderstorm warnings remain in effect – Boston 25 News

BOSTON — A tornado warning that was issued for parts of New Hampshire on Thursday afternoon has expired, but severe thunderstorm warnings remain in effect.

The tornado warning was issued for areas including New London, Wilmot, Grantham, and Grafton in South Central Grafton County and Northwestern Merrimack County. It expired at 2:15 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Northern Sullivan County, Southeastern Grafton County, Belknap County, Southwestern Carroll County, and Northwestern Merrimack County, until 3:30 p.m., according to the NWS. There is a chance for strong wind gusts and quarter-size hail in these areas.

Coos County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 2:45 p.m.

There is also a severe thunderstorm watch that impacts New Hampshire’s Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham, Strafford, and Sullivan counties until 8 p.m.

In Massachusetts, a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Berkshire, Hampden, Worcester, Essex, Hampshire, Franklin and Middlesex counties until 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
