Tyson Fury coach SugarHill Steward told talkSPORT he was relishing Dillian Whyte’s new challenge at a sold-out Wembley Stadium.

Steward has so far only trained the Gypsy King for fights with Deontay Wilder but will now have the opportunity to train him in a defense against his mandatory challenger Whyte, live on talkSPORT on April 23.

Steward bonded with Fury ahead of his second fight with Wilder in 2020

“Tyson is great, he’s in good spirits,” Steward told talkSPORT Fight Night as he gave an update on camp.

“He is ready to make his big fight in London at Wembley Stadium, a sold out crowd.

“It’s an exciting time, full of energy, 100% ready to go.

“For me, I feel the same.

“I love and love the way Tyson Fury is feeling right now.”

Asked about the differences in training for a new foe, Steward said: “For me it’s a bit more exciting now, preparing for someone else and not Deontay Wilder.

“At this point, it’s an opportunity for Tyson to do new things that he couldn’t do with Deontay Wilder.

“Some things we worked on in training camps leading up to this fight, not just this training camp, but some things we worked on that he couldn’t do or didn’t have to. do in a fight with Deontay Wilder.

“It will be very exciting in this fight with Dillian Whyte.”

Steward then revealed the key factor Fury will use to set up a knockout of Whyte on April 23.

“In this fight, I’m looking for one thing mainly from Tyson Fury and that’s punch placement,” he explained.

“It’s the ability to land the right punch at the right time.

“And we’re looking for an exciting big shot after that.

“I don’t know anything else [but to go for a knockout].

“It’s hard for me to train someone to make a decision, I don’t really believe in it myself.

“If you have the opportunity to train for a knockout, why would I sell myself short?

“I feel like if I train a fighter to go to the knockout, if he doesn’t get the knockout, then if he fails the knockout, at least he puts in enough effort to win that fight. “
