Tyson Fury weighed 12.2 pounds lighter for his fight with Dillian Whyte tonight than for his trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder.
The Gypsy King and Body Snatcher shared a respectful final showdown at Friday’s weigh-in for their fight which will be live on talkSPORT, laughing and joking with each other as they shed light on the height difference between them .
Whyte took the scales first and got to 18th 1 lb 4 oz (253.25 lb).
That’s 6 pounds heavier than his last fight against Alexander Povetkin in March 2021, when he weighed 17 pounds 9 pounds 3 ounces (247.2 pounds).
Fury followed and weighed 18th 12 lbs 13 oz (264.8 lbs).
Interestingly, that’s 12.2 pounds lighter than he was in his trilogy fight with Wilder, where he weighed 19th 11 pounds (277 pounds).
The heavyweights then met for a face-off that turned into a slapstick comedy.
When they first approached, the difference in height between them was visible.
Fury went on his tiptoes to emphasize the point and Whyte played the game by crouching.
The couple then joked and tickled each other.
They concluded the respectful affair by shaking hands and exchanging hats.
Whyte reacted by informing BT of his increased weight: “Nothing. Some fights are different.
“Some fights, we train differently.
“I’m fighting a bigger guy, a much heavier guy than me, so I wanted to be a bit more. I’ve fought at 250 pounds before.
