HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public’s help in tracking down a woman who set up a man to be robbed by two suspects at a hotel along the Gulf Freeway. Footage of the trio was captured on video and released by police.
A man told investigators that, on July 14 around 10:30 p.m., he picked up a woman that he only knows as ‘Baby’ near Richey Road in Pasadena.
The man said the two then drove to a hotel in the 8100 block of the Gulf Freeway and, once they arrived, Baby told him that she needed to get a towel before going into their room.
The man went inside alone, then heard a knock at the door. When he opened it, two men rushed inside and began hitting him in the face with a blunt object, police said. The suspects then allegedly tied the man up and put him in the bathroom.
The victim was eventually able to untie himself and realized that the suspects had taken his wallet, keys and cell phone. He then looked outside and noticed that the suspects had also stolen his pickup truck, police said.
The stolen truck was later located, unoccupied, 10 days later in the 1100 block of London Street in Pasadena. The suspects remain on the loose.
“Baby” is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build and long hair. She was wearing a light colored shirt and glasses at the time of the incident.
The first male suspect was wearing a black pullover and dark pants. The second male suspect was wearing a black pullover and jeans.
