BALCH SPRINGS, Texas – At least eight homes have been damaged or destroyed after flames from a grass fire swept through a Dallas area neighborhood, according to NBCDFW.com.
As reported on NBC5, the fire began Monday in a large field on the northwest corner of Interstate 20 and South Belt Line Road and then spread into an adjacent neighborhood where it first burned fences and then homes along the 14000 block of Bell Manor Court.
A string of eight to 10 homes along Bell Manor, not far from an elementary school, have been affected, according to the Balch Springs fire marshal. Several other structures are threatened.
There is no word of any injuries.
