Zeldin: The only group we force masks on are kids under 5 who can’t vote, that’s ‘child abuse’

On Friday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” Rep. and gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin (R-NY) said his “child abuse” to continue mask mandates for children of under five and pointed out that children, a group that may not vote, are the only ones who still face these kinds of restrictions.

Zeldin said, [relevant remarks begin around 4:20] “It’s child abuse. You have children under the age of five still having to wear masks all day. Think about this child with autism, he’s learning to talk and we’re two years into the pandemic, he can’t see his teacher’s face. The teacher can’t see their face. No one else [has] to deal with this type of mandate, this restriction, they obviously cannot vote. We are talking about toddlers under five.
